Pacific Yew grows very slowly from 15' to 50' tall. It's among the hardest of all softwood species and a very unique rare wood. The bark has been found to yield and extract that is used in the treatment of certain cancers. It has a fine grain and smooth texture when planed and sanded almost like glass.
